Watching Audrey Hepburn while sipping the coffee

by annyasin
I had the chance to visit Vianden during my weekend trip to Luxembourg. A beautiful town just 47km drive from Luxembourg city, Vianden is known for its impressive castle and is one of Luxembourg’s main tourist attractions.

Just before hiking up the hill to the castle, don’t forget to drop by at Ancien Cinema Café Club. Totally different from other normal cafés, this particular place is utterly dedicated to arts and culture. Film shows, jazz concerts, live music and art exhibitions are among the events frequently organized by the café.

Furthermore, …

Singapore special dish: Sup tulang

This will definitely be a must everytime I go to Singapore. My cousins and I will head ourself to Beach Road. There you can find a building with “Golden Mile food centre ” sign, also known as Malay hawker center. There you can find my favourite dish in Singapore, “sup tulang”.

They might have the same thing in Malaysia, known as gear box but it is definitely not the same thing.  The red sauce is simply unique and that’s what make it so special rather than the ‘gearbox soup’ in Malaysia. …

… crisp apple streudels! These are a few of my favorite things

The lyrics of song from the sound of music kept chanting on my head when I was in Austria. One of them was “my favourite thing” and a particuliar refrain kept my attention “Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels … These are a few of my favorite things!”

When I was in Austria, I told myself that I had to try at least once and it was totally worth having it.  After a long walk, I stopped myself in one of the pastry shop in Vienna’s most famous shopping street, …

Ćevapčići – Bosnian national dish, recommended by a local muazzin

I miss the cevapcici that I had during my last visit in Sarajevo. It was a muazzin from Sultan Mehmet that recommended us to try this Bosnian national dish.

It reminds me of Kofte that I had it Istanbul. The dish consists of grilled minced meat, served with pita bread, onions, sour cream, cottage cheese and the list can go on and on.

Try to look for the “Jelo restaurant” (sorry, can’t remember the right spelling), on the Bašcaršija street, near the old town square.  The speciality of this restaurant is that …

All in one – Koshary, unique dish in Egypt

By any chance if you are in Egypt, and you couldn’t make up your mind either to have rice, lentils or pastas for your lunch, you don’t have to worry anymore! Try koshary, an Egyptian dish that mixes all these ingredients.

My friend (Ikhwan) and I had our first koushary near midan El Tahrir in a restaurant that is also called El Tahrir. It consists of a base of rice, brown lentils, chickpeas, macaroni, and a topping of Egyptian garlic and vinegar and spicy tomato sauce (salsa).

Koshary seems to be an …

Kumpir- the turkish baked potatoes

When I came to Istanbul for the second time, the first thing that I was looking for is this special and popular fast food in Turkey. Kumpir! It was my friend’s sister (an Istanbul girl) who introduced me to this special Istanbul dish.

It is simply a hot backed potato. And believe me, the potato is huge! They added some cheese inside it and they mashed the potato.

You then choose the fillings for the potatoes. There are wide selection of fillings from which you can select. You can even choose all …

In conjunction with the doughnut day, yesterday, I would like to introduce you to one of my must-go place in London. Krispy Kream at Harrods! Doughnut day? You mustn’t have heard about it, but it exists!

Cupcakes in Paris!

I had ONE reason to go Paris today. Well, eversince Jep introduced me to Berko cupcakes, I had been craving for them! They taste even better than the previous cupcakes I bought from another shop.

So today, I had to get them even if I had to walk from Noisy Champs to Paris. But eventually, I didn’t have to since the RER worked fine. So we got to Chatelet by train and strolled to Berko from there. You can also take the metro directly to Rambuteau metro station and it is …

You can choose a waffle serve warm with confectioner’s sugar for …

La Duree in Paris

If you ever come to France, without a doubt you have to try french delicacies, and macaron is one of them. And while you are in Paris, why not try the best one that you can have, only in LaDuree.

I first visited La Duree in March 2009 after reading about them in hoosta Luxury travel magazine. You can find most of their shops in Paris, including at Rue Royal, Printemps shopping mall in Auber and the one I went, just few steps from the Honda Showroom in Champs Elysees.

We were …
