Howard Hillman named it as one of the 100 wonders of the world. Cruising in Nile cruise had always been one of the things that I wanted to do. The opportunity came when I visited Egypt on 2007 and I headed to a travel agent in El Tahrir to see if they could offer me with something.
Everything seemed to alright with the agent. The person in charge, I remember well her name, Madaya, assured us that it will be a 5 star cruise, full board meal, along the nile river, …

We already spent almost 3 days in Budapest. We had an extra ticket from the day before, so we decided to take a metro from our appartment in Opera to the train station.
From Opera to Keleti Train Station, we took a metro and we need to change at one of the stations. As the user of Paris and London metro system, we just changed the metro normally without paying any particular attention, and that’s when all the problem started.
We arrived at Keleti Train station few minutes later. Surprisingly, waiting us …

I was walking back from visiting Kradiorg Palace in Tallinn, Estonia. Tallinn is one of my stop during my “Northern Europe + Baltic” summer solo trip. I’ve decided to walk, since it would be my last day in Estonia, and I would love to see the city for the last time.
It started to rain heavily suddenly. I have less than one mile before arriving the city center so I’ve decided to stay under a shelter of a communist-design building. The area was deserted, but in front of me, there is …

There will only be two reasons why you would stop by at Salzburg. Either you are a Mozart music lover, or either you are a die hard fan of Sound of Music. I’ve always been a fan of Sound of Music since I was little and during our Interrail trip to Eastern Europe, I included Salzburg in our destination, to reminisce my old time.
My first stop in Salzburg is Mirabell garden, located between the train station and the city center. Built on the 18th century, this is the garden where …

If you have to name one city in Switzerland, what would be the first city that comes out from your mind? Zurich? Lausanne? Geneva? And how many of you will first think of Berne? We rarely heard about Bern, but yet, it is in fact the capital of Switzerland.
It is well located in the center of Switzerland and is very well connected with the rest of the country. It was the first city out of France that I’ve visited. Such a nice city as it was built on a hilly …

It is official! Malaysia Airlines and Turkish Airlines have signed a code-share agreement. According to BERNAMA, MAS will have access into Turkey, Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and North Africa while Turkish Airlines will gain access into Malaysia, South-East Asia and Asia-Pacific.
How can this benefits us? You will have now more choice if you are taking a flight from Europe to Malaysia. I think they are daily flight from France to Istanbul, and with the co-shared of this two company, you have a choice of taking a direct MAS …

My Interrail mates and I spent 1 day in Sarajevo. By the end of the day, we only had around 1€ with us and we were wondering what can we do with 1 € (does this remind you of the scene from Eurotrip film?). We spent our last coins by entering the Museum of Austro-Hungarian period, and we had no idea what was waiting us inside.
We found out later that the museum was built to commemorate the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, a heir of the Austrian Hungarian throne, who …

Ypres (or Ieper in Dutch) is a Belgian town located in the Flemish province of West Flanders. The train took about two hours from Lille and had cost me merely 15 € for a return ticket.
I first thought it was a very tiny town without much to see. I was totally wrong.
During the First World War, Ypres was the centre of intense and severe bloody battles between the German and the Allied forces. The first poisonous mustard gas (also called Yperite from the name of this …

A famous low cost airline in Asia, has just opened a new route to Europe. Air Asia, based in Kuala Lumpur, now offers direct flight from London to Kuala Lumpur, and then, you can connect to the other Asia-Pasific countries.
I took this flight in April for a short holiday in Malaysia. Since the flight fly from Stansted, I took a terravision bus from Victoria to Stansted. A one way ticket costs 9 pound but I took the return ticket which finally costs me 14 pound. I thought it would be …
